Home and Community Habilitation Services:
- Teaching and guiding the consumer through multi-step tasks
- Identifying and prioritizing goals while stressing effective time-management
- Completing Household Chores such as vacuuming and dusting
- Identifying cleaning supplies and teaching the consumer how to use them safely and correctly
- Cleaning and organizing a consumer's bedroom or personal space
- Helping consumers to maintain a healthy lifestyle through exercise and nutritional eating habits
- Money management including counting and identifying monetary units and spending money in a thrifty and responsible manner
- Identifying, collecting (grocery shopping) and measuring ingredients while working on a recipe
- Following cooking directions safely and efficiently from start to finish
- Emphasizing safety skills such as proper interactions with strangers and how to safely cross a street
- Helping consumers to achieve greater personal independence and a sense of personal fulfillment
- Improving a consumer's physical dexterity in everyday tasks such as eating
- Improving a consumer's socialization skills
- Many other customary skills teaching to address specific needs of the consumer.
